Probably one of the best foods on the market. Cichlid pellets, vegetable, community flakes and bug pro. The only issue I have with this order is that I mistakenly ordered the small (2mm) pellets and a good bit of it stays on the bottom.
My triops love it. I will eventually be feeding it to my future fish as well. I do wish, however, that the Bug Pro formula came in a pellet form like the other formulas from NorthFin. Quite unfortunate, since this product can only be utilized by relatively small creatures. Please NorthFin, give us (your dedicated customers) a 2 & 3mm Bug Pro pellet !!! It's only common sense that there's a need for it... especially with larger fish.
This is my first time trying this brand. I've heard good things and researched before I made the decision to buy. I am so glad I was not disappointed. My fish instantly went after the food, even my picky eaters went after it they couldn't get enough of it. Def looking forward to trying Northfins other food products. From check out to delivery, eventing went smoothly. Def give this a try.
I have mostly small fishes (checker barbs, lampeyes, some 3-4 inch Siamese Algae Eaters), and perhaps that is my problem, but most of mine spit it out. The pellets are hard as rocks, and unevenly shaped, giving sharp edges, which may be the problem. The fish go right to them and seem attracted, but unless I grind the pellets with a mortar and pestle into very small pieces, even my rainbows (currently about 2.5 to near 3 inches) and Algae Eaters spit them out.
I'm open to suggestions, but my suggestion to you would be to
1) See if you can soften the pellets
2) If possible, shape them into something that goes down easily (rounded edges)
3) Make a smaller pellet for small fishes.
